• At Southpaws Playschool for Dogs and Puppies, adult dogs are not be crated or kenneled at any time.   This allows the dogs to get maximum play and socialization times.
• Socialization skills are constantly reinforced, making the dogs better canine citizens.
• Training reinforcement is more easily accomplished when dogs are free to play all day instead of being held in crates or kennels.
• Puppy crate training helps puppies to become housetrained more quickly and reliably than traditional methods.  We offer this service to owners with new puppies, since puppies cannot be crated for an entire working day.
• The Do It Yourself Dog Wash is a valuable resource for dog owners.   Customers are able to groom their own dogs while avoiding the expense of a regular grooming salon and the mess of grooming at home.
• Canine Massage Therapy provides a new lease on life for older or injured dogs.   Southpaws' staff will soon include a person that has earned a certificate in Canine Massage Therapy.
• A certified teacher teaches community service classes.   Classes include Choosing the Right Dog for Your Family, Safety Around Pets and Pet Care for Children.   These classes are offered at a very small fee in order to enhance the relationships that Austin's citizens are able to build with their pets.
